But they never released that scene. So they never actually did that shit in the film until leaks of it much much later in the 00s/10s.
It's such a weird coincidence because the rest of Jacob's is pretty tame and not nearly as visceral horror as that scene. That scene basically captures what Silent Hill did, but SH devs never knew of it's existence. Their thinking just converged somehow and that creeps me the fuck out. God really is spoopy. Talk about diving intervention.
I'll bet it was some Jews, Muslims and Christians in Hollywood that complained about it's depiction of God and purgatory. That scene must have been too much and it unsettled them deeply. Nowadays it's just amusing that it was cut and that time is really alien to me, having been raised after the 90s when people became just soulless.
