9 launches per trip. The proposed program will require numerous trips just to establish the station and base. Let alone constant sustainment for the length of the program. 8 to fuel, 1 to transfer cargo and crew to the lunar starship. technically the first mission will require ten. One to launch said lunar starship which is not designed to ever return back to earth, but stay in space for it's entire service life. They will likely want more than one lunar starship as well. I'm starting to wonder if Burt Rutan's company and spacex should team up. Launching a starship fuel payload from 45,000 feet would save a metric shit ton of fuel to transfer to the orbiting tanker ship. The carrier plane would need to be seriously scaled up though.
