Hungary, the scene is peanuts compared to Japan but compared to most other places it's doing alright especially for such a small country, lots of races throughout the year both locally and on the big capital course with 1-3 events a year that actually have some worthwhile prize money involved, it's a niche where you can still find company.
I haven't made the trip to our bigger races of the year for a few years now but uma has me thinking of going again this year.

Interesting, I read that there have been some financially rough periods for keiba in the past but it definitely sounds like they made the right choice by deciding to focus on the horses a bit more. I don't see all that newfound attention and money uma has brought to the Japanese scene happening without that decision either.
