I am an autogynephile. Playing wow as a female character has been very helpful to me.
Ray Blanchard defined things like this as a "autogynephilic artifact", though video games are an unusual one.
Basically, allowing yourself to enjoy something autogynephilic, be it some specific piece of clothing or jewelry that you wear even as a male outside, or anything that can be inserted into your male identity in a social sense is a good vent and it is healthy for the autogynephile.
I haven't pretended to be a girl in games in many years now, but I always play female characters, and it somehow works for me.
Do notice how those hyper masculine guys who are suppressing any form of femininity are the ones who usually troon out, or at least that's what I gather from those random "before and after" pics floating online.
There is no known cure for autogynephilia, and total suppression will backfire on you. Therefore I highly recommend if you have it you accept it as a part of you, otherwise you might develop delusions that it is the whole of you, and you might do something stupid.
