Sonic was inspired by some Western idols like Micheal Jackson, obviously, but at his core, he's a Japanese IP. Also, I'm not a fan of the West, especially in the last ten years or so, but, I'll admit that Dr. Robotnik goes way harder than Dr. Eggman.
