I haven't seriously played Mario Kart since the 64 but like, this game's footage doesn't look anything like the MK gameplay clips from the DS, GC, Wii or Switch.
You're meant to be constantly drifting, which is very much what I'd expect from Sonic All Stars Racing instead. And then there is rail grinding, which seems straight out from Jet Set Radio.

It's as if this Mario Kart had been made by SEGA.
