You just know Josh Sawyer was silently waiting for BG3 to launch and be a financial failure (how could it not be? A 100-million-dollar CRPG is madness). He likely had an idea of the kind of post he was going to make; some variation of: "See? This is why people in the know were calling it an anomaly. There are things we just understand on a gut level as lifelong developers." Watching it succeed must have been hard on him; him bending the knee to emulate it in the hopes of future success is just the cherry on top.
