We're seeing a rebirth of the traditional RPGs games with BG3 being the last big WRPG since ME3 and Expedition 33 showing SquareEnix that turn based combat can still be viable by adding a few elements to it to liven it up while they were constantly trying to make the real time combat work and making each game have a new type of real time combat system.

You just know Josh Sawyer was silently waiting for BG3 to launch and be a financial failure (how could it not be? A 100-million-dollar CRPG is madness). He likely had an idea of the kind of post he was going to make; some variation of: "See? This is why people in the know were calling it an anomaly.
