Because they arent copying the movies. There has not been 1 good original LOTR game to exist ever. Nobody is trying to do more book accurate trilogies of games adhering to all the events and characters the films missed, or a game in the First Age or even trying to do their own thing with some land or people mentioned once in passing. The creativity or even love for Tolkiens world is gone.
