This is the last good thing SE released the past 17 years. When the company finally goes bankrupt and gets bought by Sony or MS, this game is what I will remember them for.
It's unironically the last time in a very long while where I could feel the passion that a SE dev put into a game. The game isn't even a masterpiece or anything, it's literally just simplified baby level tactics simulator far below stuff like Ogres or WotL and yet it's story was so creative and so well done that I really couldn't help but love it.
And the crazy thing is this game's story has no fantasy in it, there's literally no fantastical creatures other than like giant birds or stuff like that and magic is non existent pretty much in the game other than in gameplay elements, alchemy and early gun barrel technology takes precedence over traditional fantasy elements.
And the entire conflict is based around the most grounded thing imaginable, like literally salt.
I just wish the names was better.
