Zippo flint works fine in mine, its a bit shit of a design though by "modern" standards, my zippo always fires up first strike, my IMCO take like 3-4
Pros
>aesthetics
>"candle" feature
>longer and narrower cylinder, could, theoretically get less evaporation
>storage for an extra flint, you can do this at the bottom of zippos too, but the full may damage it
Cons
>generally unreliable
I like lighters, older ones, funky ones, but,
Just get a big pack of Bic lighters and have them in your coat, your pants pockets/backpack.
And a ferro rod is not a bad backup, way easier for gas stoves
