Yes they have moved on. Also one day someone will say to you "Is there even a FIM fanbase anymore or have they all moved on to furrydom?"

Actually that might be the most realistic outcome, it might be nice to think FIM goes on forever, I suspect that people won't care about FiM in max 30 years. But I can imagine something non-MLP but similar coming out instead.
