It's a pseudo futuristic tech that's managed make millions complacent and satisfied, but only a stepping stone to the thing that will be the beginning of the end of the human experience. I know people like to deflect that we aren't zombified by phones and the times I've brought it up with people, they give me a strange look because I'm out of line. It's a completely new phenomena where we have a huge portion of the new generations that've become absolutely chronically dependent on the internet because they have no community, no opportunities and everything is too expensive to pursue. Partially that's for laziness, but it's going get worse.
