Squid Game should never have gotten a second or third season. Honestly, I always saw the series as a grounded psychological horror, much like Cube or Saw. It worked best as a self-contained story, with Player 456 simply surviving the nightmare and returning to his family. That ending would have preserved its raw impact. Trying to dig deeper into the meaning behind the games, like there's some profound justification just cheapens what made the first season powerful in the first place.
