If the post office has bubble wrap and you have the original box, shipping her home by wrapping that box in two boxes taped together to make a long box should be possible, but I don't know how Japanese regulations are about that... honestly at this point anon, if the box doesn't matter to you, I'd get the certificates/identifying information out and pack them into your carry-on beside her by wrapping her very well... still get some bubble-wrap and since you're in Japan, try to drop by a doll store (depending on where you are you might even find what you need at Don Quijote) and see if you can find a face cover like picrel to protect her on the journey. Having said all that, I have never traveled internationally with dolls, so I will defer to anons more experienced than I am on that front.
