James Gunn’s Superman is literally just Man of Steel + Krypto.
No origin story, fine. But we’re still doing:
>Superman conflicted about being alien/human
>Public distrust
>Military interference
>Lex Luthor manipulating perception
>Big gray-suit villain (Engineer = Faora 2.0?)
We’ve had 5 Superman movies since 1978 and Lex Luthor is the main villain in 4 of them.
And that’s not even counting the TV shows recycling the exact same story.
Why is DC so creatively bankrupt they can’t even pick a different villain?
Brainiac? Parasite? Mongul? Even Mr. Mxyzptlk would be a breath of fresh air.
And don’t even start with “it’s different this time.” Every reboot says that.
This is just another "he wants to be human but he’s too powerful" plot disguised as deep philosophy.
How many times can they recycle this before people admit Superman is boring?
>“He’s not like other Kryptonians, he’s special… again.”
