Since this wonderful thread is still up, how would you think a 3D Yoshi game would work? Kirby and the Forgotten Land has shown that taking a character who has the ability to infinitely float can move to 3D by adding a height limit and max duration on floating until you have to touch the ground. With Yoshi, the timing is more precise to flutter jump infinitely than Kirby, so I think the simplest solution would be to make Yoshi able to flutter a certain amount of times until you're forced to land, 3 for example. As for the actual game part, would you prefer linear level design or large open areas like Odyssey and Bananza? Would the games keep the standard 5 flowers and 20 red coins to collect, or would you want to see a new form of collectible to account for the game being 3D, or even drop the collectibles in favor of something else?
