Overall it was nice getting a little more clarity on what the fuck happened in Paris. Basically Pikario got exhausted at the pace Kirarin was moving on her sweets studies, and before he knew it she was way ahead of him and this bred an intense jealousy for her. I'm wondering if this love smothering Ciel has for Rio is just overcompensation or what. I wouldn't put it past the animators to be going the route where a parent has a child experiencing a very negative emotion and is shutting down, so the parent starts getting hyper active in the child's life to cheer them, but its that super overbearing cringe kind so the child eventually gives in just to get the parent to fuck off.
