Also, to add to note, the US had recently come out of a Civil War (1865, 40 to 50 years before WWI) and the multiple other nearby conflicts at their own doorstep (Notably against Mexico) leading up before the First World War, so it wasn't like the US was a super secure nation at the time. So they weren't really all that gung-ho about entering a global conflict. On top of that the general public of the US was scared shit-less despite the pro-war propaganda. Again, most of the US saw the sheer deathtoll aftermath of the useless war of WWI and didn't want a part in it. But, if the US didn't give a metric fuckton of ungodly amounts of aid to Russia (especially just airdropping fucktons of fuel/oil, ammo and supplies) and Britain, Germany would have bulldozed both of them. All this shit about Russian winter collapses when the US was fuckin' swarming and filling Russian supply lines to the GILLS with aid. But then again, Russian blood and bodies eventually fought back the Nazis right to Berlin with the caviette of huge US supplied support.
