It's had to explain if you're not a Sonicfag. Sonic had major issues with characterization for more than a decade now, ever since the writer for the Adventure series left, and Westerners took over. This is the first time Sonic actually felt like Sonic to me since Black Knight, the game from 2009.
It's a silly manga for preschoolers, sure, but it's refreshing as fuck too.
