Keep this going long enough and you'll have runaway inflation, meaning interest rate hikes, meaning an even greater cost of borrowing. Stop suddenly and all the debt-laden businesses propping up the war go bust and have to repay billions that they don't have.
One solution is to seize oligarch companies but that's political suicide, or further sell mineral/oil rights to chinks which ensures long-term suffering. Although this is very brief and there's much better analysis than what I can do, so have a read.
