Taking advantage of the discussion to blog here. The piece that made me start drawing comics was because this indie manga made by the brazilian joao eddie in 2013/2014. Back in the time there was a site called upmanga and was the first br platform for indie authors to share their work. It was small but it was relatively easier to get a solid base than today. The level of that indie manga was absurd for the brazilian standard back then, I used to read it at past midnight so when I created Altarusia I wanted something to be read "at night" too. The site was discontinued and never heard of him again until 2022 when I found that not only he works doing comics and won international contests, he was also from the same decrepid town as mine. The world really is small.
