That image really isn't "bara" at all. I do have some "bara" Nooks, though.
Personally I'm not the biggest fan of pushing it too far in this direction, either. Nook, in a less abstracted style, would still be pretty soft and plush-y in appearance; he's a Tanuki, after all. This guy's art isn't bad but it's definitely a bit more "anthro" than I prefer.
