Can anyone point me to a server talking about /x/ stuff? Its hard to talk about spirituality stuff with irl people wothout comming across as crazy?(i may be)

That's true for Nioh 1, not Nioh 2. Not only is flux wank needed (because end game bosses regenerate health if you don't constantly apply pressure), but yokai skills allow you to regenerate stamina while attacking with them. On top of that, penance makes bosses even bigger damage sponges for higher rewards.
You are 100% forced to engage with flux wank, otherwise you're just making the game harder for yourself. The only exception is the onmyo build, but that's boring as you're not engaging with the weapons, which are the main source of combat.
