You don't. The whole point of marines in the HH is that they're mass produced legionaries. At most, make the sergeants more noticeable and add a squad number to tell each one apart.

I've not played HH3 yet, but the online consensus seem to pair him with short range Rapiers (so he has something to do with his hammer)
