It doesn't necessarily have to be a bow but it makes the most sense given the precedent, and the use of bows fits with their phalanx fighting style. It's the ultimate classical weapon, it's hilarious that Katakros and obr are supposed to be a military influenced faction but they don't have rank and file archers.
Eitherway there's nothing limited them to just one ranged unit.

yes, not sure if I agree with the decision to remove arcane bolt but at the least they should have a ranged attack like the stormcoven do.
