The Ludens now live among the people, the world is normal. Some of the girls are mentioned in some shape or form like Celica being a famous actress and the hospital Shina visits which Yuri was studying. Shina is a Luden now (though the backstory on why is different from DERQ1, another mismatch to the pile), Mai's father is a sane person, which means the events of DER2 were also successfully beaten and Julietta Nolan twarted. Bitch. But no sign of Arata's friend that was indicated to be from the higher world the Nolans are from and that gunned them down.
Shina also seems quite concerned with Sayaka's wellbeing, not just shyness but making her worry about insects ''if you don't care one day you won't care about the lives of people'', narrowing down further her identity. Now one thing I really liked: when the hospital guy was in trouble, Shina used her powers onscreen. Powers are actually acknowledged. As they should.
DERQ 1.5's novel shows the cult is impervious to hacking, but no one EVER brings up the powers they should have. Not even a scene to be surprised it doesn't work. And even then their fighting capacity is gone as if it never happened for the sake of the Death Ends. Here we see they actually exist.
