simply due to the fact of lily's blindness, this means that she is at a general physical disadvantage when dealing with most people, and is thus much more easily able to obtain power over individuals who are mentally weak. we can see this in the fact that she surrounds herself with weak-willed people, like hanako and hisao, both of whom suffer from severe mental frailty, and are slaves through and through. hanako resents herself for surviving her house fire; lily is essentially the ascetic priest who has amplified the debtor inside hanako's conscience. hanako has never truly escaped the fire that once consumed her, she continuously drenches her conscience in gasoline, while lily hands her match after match by coddling her. similar for hisao, who resents life and seeks vengeance against the unknown that has wronged him (by his heart attack). lily sees in him another perfectly weak man, and seizes her opportunity in obtaining him. by making hisao emotionally dependent on her, she prevents any possibility of hisao ever breaking the chains that surround his heart, both in a literal (preventing him from exercising) and metaphorical sense (stated before).

i hope that i have made it clear to everyone here that lily is actually the best written katawa of them all, and displays a depth unknown to the other females at yamaku.
