Not necessarily, the form names are based on the terms of different levels of cavities, C1 is when the tooth only has a bit of decay and C3 is when the decay of the teeth finally reaches the nerves
C0 would be a healthy tooth, C2 would be when the decay reaches the dentin and C4 would be when the teeth has partially decomposed greatly changing the shape of the teeth
