A bipartisan pair of lawmakers has proposed authorizing President Donald Trumpto transfer B-2 stealth bombers and 30,000-pound "bunker buster" bombs to Israel if Iran is found to still be developing a nuclear weapon after last week’s strikes.

>The US has 19 B-2 bombers left in inventory and no operational B-21 raiders. Each B-2 cost about $4.17 billion adjusted for inflation.

Proposed by Reps. Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., and Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., the Bunker Buster Act would allow Trump to "take actions to ensure Israel is prepared for all contingencies if Iran seeks to develop a nuclear weapon."

>The B-2 would allow Israel to strike any target in the world with an extremely high probability of success and a high degree of deniability. The B-2 was originally designed as a first strike weapon to hunt Soviet road mobile ICBMs.
