Yakuza Kiwami was ported to switch last year, and the only reason the series hadn’t made it to the platform prior was Nagoshi having a complex about the platform being for kids. Once he left the company, SEGA promptly ported it. Dunno where the idea started for him though, because Yakuza 1 & 2 were also on Wii U. None of it was on Nintendo.
They’ve had mature games on their platforms for decades. Hell, they’ve been fucking mature games for a long while too. Eternal Darkness on the GameCube, Bayonetta 2 & 3, and most recently the new Famicom Detective Club game.
I don’t believe you need a Nintendo dev kit to release on switch. I know a few indie devs who were able to get their games on the platform by just using the software SDK. You do have communicate with them, as with any platform holder (Steam included) prior to release but given the state of the Eshop it’s pretty light. They don’t give that much of a fuck about what goes on there.
