I'm gonna be real for a minute here, but stuff like this is genuinely why idiots like you do not understand how business works and will probably never amount to anything.
You see, business is very simple. Find ways to make money! More money=better. And finding ways to grab every possible avenue as a means of cash flow is ideal. Now, let's be honest with ourselves: video games are just complex toys. You can equate them to interactive books if it makes you feel better. "Oh but the Red Dead, the Halo, the COD!" That's very nice sweetie, your mountain dew and doritos are waiting for you in the living room...
So, since video games are toys, one must find out how to grasp the biggest amount of audience to appeal these toys to, or at least capture the attention of someone. How do you do that? Making good games. People like those! Insane, I know. But hey, shit sells itself. And Nintendo keeps doing that. You can bitch and moan about how its for kids, but somehow ignore Playstation also houses titles like Crash and Spyro.
And at the end of the day, the point is this:
If you were in the toy business, would you want 1 million adults buying your items, or 10 million kids? Thank you.
