It's a technical failure not a marketing failure. The cars are not able to function safely in full autopilot because they lack any sort of radar or LiDAR that real self driving cars have. It's a scam that has been built up for a decade and will implode spectacularly.
I don't mean to get so off topic but pic related is what real self driving looks like. AI needs input from sensors it is not good enough to drive from cameras alone the way a human can.
