I like Sonic. I think Sonic is cool. I don't understand how you can look at that and somehow think they have to be "trolling". How badly do you hate "the wind" or whatever to come to that conclusion.

This is the core theme of the franchise that Sonic embodies, so he is presented as an aspirational figure, like a magical fairy guide that falls out of the sky and changes the world around him just by existing. So, he himself is a static character, his "coolness" is highlighted rather than his flaws, because the story isn't actually about him personally.
I think Sonic the Hedgehog is the Coolest Guy Ever. But you look at this and you're like "nah, man, they have to be trolling". like dude, what the heck do you think sonic is?! who the heck do you think i am?!
