They just don't want to actually make a game that anyone plays
They want higher tiers of maps to be ballcrushing simulators but they also don't want the players constantly abusing whatever is the most broken at the time to keep up with the difficulty curve. So what gives? They nerf everything good while overtuning the map mods and mobs so the game just ends up not being fun.
Players like winning. They like being challenged but making content that isn't doable by the vast majority of potential builds just repels players.

I called it from the start when I said 2 is going to have EXACTLY the same problems as 1. GGG just does not learn.
