BPD is definitely real but most BPDs who self-diagnose and claim to have it online are larpers who just have 'borderline traits' not actual BPD its pretty hard to actually get diagnosed with this shit you have to do alot of self-harm or try to kys
But it's definitely real according to my psychologist BPD is made up of two things - 1. a completely different neurochemistry that makes us emotionally hypersenstive this shit is from birth to death and 2. a broken/poor sense of self/identity/self-esteem from consistent and extremely negative feedback from the environment during childhood or adolescence usually through moderate to severe trauma lole this is the psychodynamical component
But you are right mental illness doesn't ever excuse accountability to your actions even if you have BPD if someone with BPD somehow hurt you I will apologize in their stead Gomen nasai Sumimasen!!!!!
