The post-game stuff is just for people who really like number go up autism, superboss challenges, or things like "perfecting" items or characters. If you just care about the main story you're not really missing out on much. The gameplay does fundamentally change at that point so it makes sense that people who enjoyed the main game segment might not like post-game autism.
