It's a trope, but I like Sunny and his theoretical twin sister being twins that have similar interests but are otherwise opposites that balance each other out. Sunny's quite, Haru's vocal. Sunny's reserved, Haru's a little more outgoing. Sunny keeps his feelings mostly bottled up, Haru's an emotional crybaby. They both like Spaceboy, but Haru likes Sweetheart a little more. Sunny's more imaginative out of the two. Both are inseparably close, but Haru needs Sunny a little more than he needs her. Both look up to Mari dearly for how amazing she is, but deep down Haru feels like an inferior version of Mari and envies her, but dislikes herself more than she envies Mari. Both love steak and the few instances they'll fight is over the last piece. They have separate beds, but usually share anyways out of habit.
Haru and Aubrey get along like sisters, especially with Mari in the picture. Kel's annoying, but she likes and gets along well with him surprisingly. Haru idolizes Hero just as much as Sunny does, and the two have certainly spent time talking about how "Wow..." Hero is, sometimes with Mari joining in. Basil seems to prefer spending time with Sunny, but he gets along well with Haru also, even if she likes to butt into their conversations uninvited. No one really says it, but the friend group kind of has built-in pairs. Hero's and Mari are together obviously, Kel and Aubrey playfight and bicker, Sunny and Basil stick together as the more reserved and quiet friends. That's not to say this is a strict guideline of how the friends always interact, but this kind of leaves Haru in the unfortunate position of third wheel at the worst of times. And she knows it.
Something like that.
