I work for a Belgian company called SDworx. I work for their Poland office as an IT support "engineer" with a Hay level 13. Poland, Spain, and Mauritius are considered the “tech hubs”, basically where they outsource most of the tech work like dev, IT support, etc. The main office is in Belgium obviously.
In the latest CEO podcast, they announced a new tech hub is going to open in India. Honestly, I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner, but it’s still a bit concerning. Recently, a few of my colleagues in Mauritius (not in IT, but in the infosec dept) were laid off. Still not 100% clear why, but it seems like they’re going through some kind of cost-cutting phase. Another thing, we used to get HP laptops, but now all the new ones are Dell 5520s, and they’ve been pretty terrible. Lots of issues. Just feels like corners are being cut.
Should I actually be worried, or is there nothing to stress about yet?
