For example, the remake transformed the mansion, the most important location in the story, from a mysterious and unsettling place into an ordinary five star hotel. Couple it with the fact that the psychedelic soundtrack was mostly replaced by the most run of the mill music possible and you get half of Tsukihime's charm instantly ruined.
Original Tsukihime became iconic for a reason. I guess TM wanted to appeal to masses with the remake.
