this is the worst part about it. i fucking loved mcdonalds ketchup with nuggets + fries and randomly coming in one day to find they gutted out the dispensaries was tragic. the most insulting part is they didnt even bother changing out the counters, there's still a hole and empty cartridge where the cups used to be labeled ketchup so it's just a ridiculously, literally hollow reminder of lost convenience.

they also did the same shit with the soda machines and took them out then added more communal seating in its place so you never get your drink until your order's ready (and the workers fucking forget it half the time and have to pour a second drink so it just inconveniences the company and everyone involved compared to if you were able to just pour the fucking drink youself in the first place). it has to be purely a profit driven thing somehow because the worst thing in my small city is the occasional uni student given this is a place in bumfuck oklahoma where a car being broken into is the big news for the week
