Something about the US military complex dismissing sniper doctrine during peace time, only to come and reinvent/relearn it all again when another conflict arises.
Happened after WWI, after WWI, hell, even soldiers going into Korea had very little to work with, let alone Vietnam.

At least Field Manuals exist.
