Apple:
>a new dynamic material called Liquid Glass, which combines the optical properties of glass with a sense of fluidity.
Google:
>Material Design is inspired by the physical world and its textures, including how they reflect light and cast shadows. Material surfaces reimagine the mediums of paper and ink.
They're fucking digital user interfaces, we've had them for decades now and they don't need to be made out of "physical materials". My mom understands that you can scroll a page or click a button without having that page be "paper" and the button "liquid glass".
