Most social media outrage is overblown. All his clown had to do was ignore the backlash and move on like nothing happened. Plenty of content creators have walked away scot free from serious criminal allegations by simply ignoring them. Instead, this guy caved in, disappeared from the internet and made sure this would be all he'll ever be known for.
