I hope 3rd gets rid of the allies matrix. From a narrative and gameplay perspective it sucks that yourdudes team up better or worse depending on some arbitrary decisions. Especially since there were plenty of bonds formed that ran counter to the disposition of the legions as a whole. You should just be able to pick the level of allegiance with each ally and get other benefits or penalties to offset it.
