Emerald Beyond has great combat. More fast paced with linking up combos and then getting repeated combos on a turn, but I enjoyed Scarlet Grace's combat more. I like how traits and formations fed into interrupts and counter attacks. Counter attacks were so good in Scarlet Grace, negating damage along with dealing massive damage. It is nice that Scarlet Grace can get out of defending/magic/attack actions in battle with worthwhile counter attacking and that there's reason to specialize a character for it and utilize it in most battles.

Well the other fun aspects of SaGa is building characters and parties along with exploration and bumbling around. Emerald Beyond still has character growth, customization, and party building, just severely lacking exploration.
