LU was based in Los Angeles but had heavy mexican influences with some storylines being pretty much "this guy is actually a time traveller and helped ancient aztec tribes" with a literal video package shown of him time travelling and meeting some aztec tribals
And LU has one of the best matches I've seen from a storyline perspective, Pentagon vs Vampiro at Ultima Lucha. But don't watch that before watching LU before, as while the story is explained through the match it still tastes better when you saw it all.
