It's funny how the writers themselves have repeatedly shit all over how they handled Beth and Jerry in season 2. Turns out people don't watch comedy shows to watch the parents of the protagonist argue bitterly.

I for one love the change having Beth genuinely love Jerry. Unsurprisingly the jerry episode is the best one this season even without a B plot
