Most decks are affordable, cheaper than standard decks. Just don't fall for the guys who netdeck with 4 mox diamonds or one of the few Legacy adjacent combo decks like Stiflenought. There are some tournament viable decks that are less than $100. New reprints are legal. And also gold-bordered cards are considered legal in many cases especially since JotC is not in charge of any tournaments.
Some examples of less than $300 decks
>red burn
>goblins
>some madness decks
>Blue Stasis
>Pit Rack
>Many UW Landstill decks
>BW control (under $100)
>Dead Guy Ale (UW midrange--Barely over $100)
>The Rock
>Ponza (some variations of the deck are barely more than $100)
>Monoblack Clerics
>Machine Head (RB Midrange)
>Zombies
>Astral Slide
>White Weenie
