I don't play Elden Ring and I don't care what you buy, but come on now. It's a compatibility rating, not a performance rating. The game is "verified" because it's gamepad-compatible, doesn't require a large screen, and runs on SteamOS instead of crashing with an "oopsie you need Genuine Microsoft Windows 11 to run this game" error -- not because Valve is claiming that the hardware is powerful.
